Hand of Midas Slot Review

The Hand of Midas slot was developed by slots and scratch games developer Pragmatic Play with a Greek Mythology theme. Playable over 5 reels, 3 rows and 20 paylines, the Hand of Midas offers exciting and engaging gameplay.

Additionally, the Hand of Midas slot has extremely high volatility, which means that, in theory, you may experience less frequent wins compared to lower volatility slots. However, if wins do land, they may be more substantial.

The betting range gives you a chance to choose your bet amounts, starting from a minimum of £0.20 to a £30 maximum bet per spin.

Moreover, the Hand of Midas casino online slots game has a decent RTP rate of 96.54%. This RTP rate is also above the online casino slots average. In addition, the Hand of Midas slot has 1 bonus feature; the Free Spins feature with a win guarantee - more on that later - and a special wild multiplier feature.

How To Play Hand of Midas

The Hand of Midas slot control panel is not complicated to follow. All you have to do is place your bet using the +/- betting signs below the reels. Then, choose between £0.20 to £30 maximum bet per spin.

The slot has 20 paylines. The Information button is on the left side; it will open up the paytable, the game’s rules and what each symbol is worth. To form winning combinations, you have to land 3 or more matching symbols on an active payline from left to right.

There are 10 symbols that you might see on the reels. The low-value symbols are the card royals A, K, J, Q, and 10. The A and K are worth up to 2.5x your stake for landing 5 on a payline, whilst the rest are worth up to 1.25x for 5-of-a-kind. They are followed by the high-value symbols, which are King Midas, the Wizard, Midas' daughter, a chest of gold, a bowl of fruit, and the golden cup. They are worth up to 20x, 15x, 12.5x, 10x, 7.5x, and 5x your stake for landing 5 on a payline, respectively.

There is also a wild symbol represented by the letter W in an intricate casing. This symbol can substitute for the other symbols to potentially help you form winning combinations. Additionally, when it lands, it becomes a wild multiplier and adds multipliers worth 1x, 2x, or 3x your stake at random. If you land more than 1 wild symbol, their multipliers will be added together. However, the wild cannot substitute for the scatter symbol.

Lastly, The Hand of Midas slot also has a scatter symbol which is The Hand of Midas. It is responsible for triggering the Free Spins feature but will not appear during the Free Spins round. It can only land in the base game.

Hand of Midas Bonus Features & Jackpots

The Hand of Midas slot only has 1 bonus feature, the Free Spins feature. It is activated when you land 3 or more scatter symbols in a single spin. Additionally, the number of scatter symbols that triggered this feature will determine the number of bonus spins you receive.

This will trigger 3 mini reels containing 1, 2 or 3 bonus spins. The reels will then spin and award you a certain number of spins. That number becomes your Free Spins round. Additionally, the Free Spins round has a general win multiplier applied to all the wins you may have.

The Free Spins feature also has a minimum win guarantee that depends on the number of triggering scatter symbols present. It is as follows:

  • 3 scatter symbols will award 10x your stake win guarantee
  • 4 scatter symbols will award 20x your stake win guarantee
  • 5 scatter symbols will award 30x your stake win guarantee

Moreover, because the Free Spins bonus is designed to provide you with a minimum win guarantee, if this win amount is not reached and your spins run out, the mini reels will appear again to award you with 1, 2, or 3 extra spins.

The retriggers can happen indefinitely until the win guarantee is reached. If you land a wild symbol during the bonus spins, it will remain sticky on the reels. It will also cause the general multiplier to increase by 1x, 2x, or 3x at random.

Hand of Midas RTP & Volatility

The Hand of Midas online slot has an RTP rate of 96.54%. The volatility is high.

Theme, Graphics & Soundtrack

The Hand of Midas slot is based on the Greek myth surrounding Midas, a king of Phrygia who was very greedy and wished to turn everything he touched into gold. He was subsequently called the King with a golden hand.

The reels appear to be underwater, which we can only assume is the river where King Midas eventually washed his hand. However, this is just speculation because you can also see pillars in the background as if a whole city was swallowed by water.

On the right of the reels are Midas’s burning and crumbling hand holding the multiplier meter. The reels are transparent and appear to be floating.

Hand of Midas Review Summary

The Hand of Midas could offer an overall enjoyable experience. But, as we have mentioned previously, this slot did not deviate from the usual online slots gameplay. So, you won’t see a lot of unique features.

However, the Free Spins bonus feature and its minimum guaranteed wins add a layer of excitement and novelty. The maximum win is capped at 5,000x your stake, so if you reach it during the Free Spins feature, the round ends and any withstanding spins are forfeited.

You can play the Hand of Midas slot right here at King Casino or browse our vast selection of other online slots and casino games.
