How To Play The Wins Of Nautilus Megaways Slot

Although this slot offers many features, it can be relatively easy to play once you understand the basics and controls. To score a win, you only need to land at least three uniform symbols on consecutive reels, starting from the leftmost reel. The playing grid can potentially provide up to 117,649 ways to win.

Moving on to the controls, you'll see three buttons surrounding the grid; a stack of casino chips, a three-line menu, and a big spin button.

  • Hit the stacked casino chips to open the betting options and select your preferred stake. Then, you can visit the three-line menu to access the paytable, game rules, and settings.
  • Once done with the menu, you can tap the golden 'X' to exit and return to the main game screen. After this, you can click the centre spin button to set the reels rolling!
  • If you get tired of the background track, or prefer a quiet game, you can tap the speaker button at the top-left of the screen to mute the music.

Symbols

The symbols can be a large part of this slot's charm. They're colourful and beautifully designed to help bring the theme together. Besides that, they're split into three groups; high, medium and low-paying.

As in most typical slots, the low-value symbols consist of card ranks A, K, Q and J. The middle pays consist of three underwater symbols, while the high pays include human characters.

All the symbols offer different payout amounts for three to six characters in a match. For example,

  • J can earn you between 0.1x and up to 0.75x your wager;
  • Q and K can award up to 1x your bet for six matching symbols;
  • A offers 0.2x up to 1.25x your stake;
  • The anchor is worth between 0.25x and up to 1.5x your bet;
  • The Nautilus can fetch you 0.3x up to 1.75x your wager;
  • The diving helmet carries a value ranging between 0.35x and up to 2x your stake;
  • The male character offers 0.5x up to 3x your bet;
  • The fish character can fetch you at least 0.6x and at most 4x your wager; while
  • The female character can payout the highest value between 0.75x and 5x your stake.

The Avalanche Mechanic

This Mechanic works to remove all winning symbols from the grid after a successful match. Here's how it goes - the winning characters fall off the grid, while others fall in their place, granting you another chance to potentially land a new winning combination. The good thing is that if you land another, the sequence repeats. And so it continues until you fail to land a new winning combination.

Wild Symbols

The wild symbols in this slot are termed 'Countdown Bombs', and you can see the reason why below.

These symbols can appear as a green bomb on the top reel, or between reels 2-5 only. But that's not all. Each wild symbol that appears carries a random number ranging between 1 and 4, which reduces after every activated Avalanche. Then, it can explode if it gets to zero, creating a fully wild reel. The explosion also awards a multiplier with 2x the starting counter value.

Note that an explosion can never occur on the top reel. Instead, the countdown bomb(s) will move to the primary grid below before exploding. Meanwhile, if two countdown bombs on the same reel explode simultaneously, their values can add together before multiplying by 2 and applying to the wild.

Respin Symbols

Grinning sharks can land on reels 2 to 5. These are the Respin symbols, and they can award you the respin feature any time they appear on the playing grid.

Scatter Symbols

Unlike the wild and respin symbols, scatters can appear on any reel and at any time during the base game or bonus round. Besides, any scatter character that appears will lodge in the Bonus Meter at the left-hand side of the grid. So, your job is to try and get up to three before the end of a potential Avalanche sequence. If this happens, you can progress to the bonus spins round.

The Respin Feature

If activated, the triggering shark will move erratically around the grid knocking off symbols. It can remove between 2 to 10 random characters in this manner, potentially triggering an Avalanche sequence.

The Deep Sea Bonus Spins Round

You need at least three scatter symbols collected within the same Avalanche sequence to unlock this feature and get free spins. The number of scatters collected will determine how many free spins you get. For example, three scatter symbols will earn you 12 free spins, but you get an extra five for every additional scatter you collect after three. So, if you collect four scatters, you get 17 (12+5) free spins, while Five scatters will result in a whopping 22 (12+5+5) free spins!

The free spins bonus round works similarly to the base game. However, you get an unlimited progressive win multiplier that begins at x1 and can increase by 1 after every successful Avalanche. Also, note that you may retrigger the free spins via three or more scatters, just like in the base game.

Wins of Nautilus Megaways RTP

Return To Player (RTP): 96.10%

The RTP is a theoretical value and is shown as a percentage. It’s used to describe the percentage of money wagered a particular casino game may pay back to players over a certain period of time.

For example, if a game had a RTP of 92%, in theory, this would mean that for every £100 wagered, the game could return £92 back to players in potential winnings. However, it is important to note that winnings are completely random, and players are not guaranteed to receive this.
